Progression in Build a Phone Empire is the relationship between year-by-year research, new device lines, 28 cash-reward goals, rival and region growth, global leaderboards, and Legacy. The official description confirms all of those pillars, but it does not publish the full technology tree, complete goal list, reset formula, or leaderboard metrics. Use the current interface for exact entries while following a plan that keeps the product loop funded.

Build progression around a repeatable phone

Before optimizing the tree or goals, establish one product that can fund another complete cycle. Save its design, parts, cost, price, campaign, review, and sales result. This baseline is the engine that pays for research, office needs, staff, new families, regions, and experiments.

If progression spending breaks that loop, return to the last repeatable device. A technology unlock is only useful when the company can design and launch the result. A goal reward is only available when the condition is completed and the current interface applies or lets you claim it. A larger office helps only when it supports a real workflow.

Use the company year as context. Research is described as advancing year by year, so a technology or device missing from one player’s tree can be a time or prerequisite difference rather than an update conflict.

Choose research by outcome

The official sources name screens, cameras, and chips as technologies and phones, tablets, smartwatches, earbuds, foldables, and laptops as product lines. Open the tree and identify the next unlock tied to a product you can afford. Record prerequisite nodes, RP cost, year, and result.

The default current capacity is one technology at a time according to the Triple Research description. That pass allows three simultaneous technologies, but each still costs Research Points. Lab Grant adds 20% RP. Capacity and generation solve different problems; observe which one limits you before buying or changing the queue.

The Research Guide turns this into a priority method and responsive tech record.

Use goals as milestones, not guesses

The Experience advertises 28 goals with cash rewards. No reviewed first-party public page lists all 28 names, conditions, order, or amounts. Build the tracker from the live panel. Record the exact label, requirement, progress, reward, collection behavior, in-game year, and check date.

Align goals with the company plan where possible. A design goal can coincide with the next product, a research goal with a needed part, or an expansion goal with a funded regional launch. Do not drain cash to complete an objective whose reward or condition is not clearly visible.

The Goals Guide supplies a 28-slot method that leaves unknown entries empty instead of turning community claims into facts.

Expand without losing the core loop

New devices and regions create progression options, but each adds design, cost, price, and market questions. Unlock one target, build a conservative baseline, and compare it with the existing phone business. Keep enough cash to recover if the experiment underperforms.

Rivals should be approached through the current condition shown by the game. The public description does not define a universal rival formula. Record what the live interface asks and what visibly changes after success. Use the Regions Guide for the market record.

Decide when Legacy is useful

Legacy lets you sell the company, start again, and receive a permanent bonus. That is the official boundary. The exact threshold, bonus, retained items, reset list, and effect on goals or research must be read from the current confirmation.

Compare the permanent benefit with the value of continuing the current company. A useful Legacy moment is one where growth has slowed, the confirmation is understood, and the new bonus is worth rebuilding the early loop. Do not reset because one product or region performed poorly; fix the sales diagnosis first.

Bonus
Current permanent benefit is visible and understood.
The confirmation does not explain the reward.
Reset scope
You have recorded what will restart or remain.
Important research, goals, or purchases are unclear.
Growth
The current run has a clear slowdown or planned endpoint.
One fixable price or cash mistake is the only problem.
Rebuild
You know the first-phone and research route to repeat.
The early loop is still confusing or underfunded.

Treat leaderboards as a defined metric

“Global leaderboards” confirms competition but not the board names, scoring field, update interval, tie behavior, or anti-cheat rules. Open the current board and record the exact title, displayed metric, your value, rank, refresh behavior, and date.

Optimize the metric actually shown. Company value, cash, sales, Legacy count, or another field would require different decisions; do not use one as a substitute for another. The Leaderboards Guide explains how to build a valid attempt record.

Triple Research, Lab Grant, Extra Design Slot, 2x Money, Hyper Speed, Star Recruiter, and Auto-Hire can change capacity, generation, cash, time, or staffing. Disclose relevant passes when sharing progression time, company results, or leaderboard attempts.

Paid tools can accelerate a route without making its planning correct. A research queue still needs RP and a product goal. Two device slots still need cash. Doubled phone-sale money still depends on devices selling. Automation still needs a deliberate office.

Progression record

At each major milestone, save the date, company year, cash, product families, key research, RP, active technology, goal state, office stage, staff state, regions, rival state, Legacy bonus, leaderboard metric, relevant passes, and next decision. Use cards by system rather than a wide sheet so the record stays readable on a phone.

Common progression mistakes

  • Researching several attractive branches without a funded product target.
  • Copying a full goal list or reward table that the current panel does not support.
  • Resetting through Legacy without reading the live confirmation.
  • Comparing leaderboard ranks without naming the board and metric.
  • Treating paid acceleration as proof of a better free-player route.
  • Expanding devices, regions, office, and staff simultaneously.
  • Ignoring the in-game year when comparing unlocks.
  • Spending the next-launch reserve to cross a milestone faster.
