Build a Phone Empire can show people from your Roblox friends list as hiring candidates, and hired friends work in the office using their real avatars. That is an official feature, but your friends do not need to be treated as automatic best hires. Compare the fields shown in the current candidate panel, the workstation you have available, and the company’s cash needs before confirming.
Prepare the office
Check that the current layout has the functional space the hiring interface expects. The game supports desks, and the official Auto-Hire pass specifically refers to empty desks. Place or identify an empty desk only after reading the current requirement; do not assume every decorative desk is recognized as a workstation.
Keep the route to the desk clear and make sure the camera can identify the worker once hired. If the candidate action remains unavailable, read the displayed message and verify placement or other requirements before buying more furniture.
Record cash before hiring. The public pages do not publish the default salary, upfront cost, role list, or training rules, so those details must come from the live candidate and confirmation screens.
Compare candidates
For each candidate, record the avatar or displayed name privately, the visible role, star rating if shown, current cost, described effect, and desk requirement. Choose based on the company bottleneck. A higher visible rating may be useful, but it must still solve the job you need and fit the budget.
Protect other players’ privacy when sharing screenshots. Crop usernames or get permission before publishing a friend’s real avatar as part of a guide. The feature is social, but a public staff index does not need personal account details.
If the candidate panel refreshes, note the in-game month or trigger shown by the current version. The Star Recruiter description confirms candidate batches and one reroll per month for pass owners, but it does not publish every default refresh rule.
Hire with a clear reason
This turns hiring into an operating decision rather than an avatar collection. The familiar face is part of the charm; the visible role and cost determine whether it helps the current company.
Star Recruiter
The official store description says every candidate batch includes a 3★+ expert and gives one reroll a month. This pass can help players who repeatedly wait for a stronger candidate or want a controlled reroll. It does not state that every candidate becomes 3★, that the expert fills a specific role, or that hiring is free.
Before buying, observe several normal batches and identify whether candidate quality is actually the bottleneck. If cash, desks, or product demand are limiting the company, a stronger pool may not solve the immediate problem. Confirm the current price in the official store; the October 8 snapshot listed 49 Robux, but prices can change.
Auto-Hire
The official description says empty desks fill themselves every month. This is an automation choice. It may suit a layout where you intentionally keep desks ready and accept automatic staffing, but it can reduce manual candidate selection.
Before buying, decide whether you want every empty desk filled when the monthly condition occurs. Keep cash and workforce needs in mind, and test with one controlled empty desk rather than a large unplanned room. The public description does not explain every edge case, candidate priority, or ownership interaction; use the current purchase panel and live result.
The October 8 snapshot listed Auto-Hire at 25 Robux. Recheck before purchase.
Troubleshoot recruitment
- If no friend appears, confirm the current candidate pool and wait for the documented refresh behavior rather than repeatedly rebuilding the office.
- If hiring is blocked, read the desk, capacity, or cash message exactly.
- If a pass benefit is absent, verify ownership, join a current server, and check the monthly or batch condition.
- If Auto-Hire fills an unwanted desk, review the office layout and current pass controls before creating more vacancies.
- If a candidate’s effect is unclear, do not assign a role based on avatar appearance; use the live description.
- If a friend changes their Roblox avatar, expect the displayed appearance to reflect the platform feature rather than a fixed employee skin.
Keep a staff record
Save the in-game month and year, candidate batch, visible rating, role or effect, hiring cost, desk, result, pass ownership, and check date. Do not publish salaries, star effects, training costs, or job names as permanent facts unless the current interface supports them.
Use Office Building to create functional space and Game Passes to compare recruitment convenience with the other official products.
